SOSSANO - LONIGO AND WEST OF THE BERICI HILLS

Starting from Casa Muraro Holiday Home you ride through the village of Sossano southwards. At the traffic light you turn right direction of Lonigo. After 4 kilometers you reach Orgiano, where Villa Fracanzan Piovene is located. It's an 18th century building designed by the architect Muttoni. The halls are richly and tastefully furnished. In the kitchen, which deserves a visit, there is a precious collection of copper objects and a red-marble sink with carved lion heads. Outside, the huge park maintains its original lay-out according to the Versailles model and it also contains a fish weir. Near the Villa there are gatherings on the local country traditions part of which belongs to the Muraro family. From Orgiano, riding westwards passing the crossroads (Lonigo-Noventa) you reach Teonghio. Turning right in the direction of Spessa, along "Strada Spessa" you can see the 17th century Villa Bevilacqua. Going straight ahead in the plain of Veneto after 4 km you reach Bagnolo where opposite a bridge on the banks there is Villa Pisani, a masterpiece of Palladio.

The itinerary goes westwards along the main road parallel to the Guà river behind Villa Pisani and after 3 km you arrive at Lonigo. Here if you rise your eyes northwards in the direction of the Berici mountains you can run into the profile of Rocca Pisani, a villa which dominates Lonigo. Riding westwards you reach Meledo where you can see Villa Trissino, an unfinished villa of Palladio. If you turn left in the direction of Monticello di Fara, you come close to the wonderful Villa Da Porto called La Favorita. From Monticello di Fara, you can go back to Lonigo, following the road to Noventa. After some km you turn left towards the small village of Alonte. You go straight ahead through the centre, and then you turn right, you ride upwards along a narrow road among woody hills, dominating Lonigo. On the top you turn right and riding downhill on a steep road you reach the village of Villa del Ferro. Here you turn right in the direction of Orgiano. After 4 km, you turn left towards Sossano and you are back at the starting point.
